Christopher Klack had two goals and three assists to lead the xAncaster Avalanche to a 14-5 victory over the xPort Colborne Pirates. Klack's tallies came at 1:51 into the first period to make the score 1-0 xAncaster and 9:41 into the third to make the score 12-2 xAncaster.xAncaster made xPort Colborne's netminders to work between the pipes, firing 53 shots and forcing 39 saves. Jake Danson made 32 stops and Jerrad Taylor made seven. The Avalanche managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for 12 minutes in penalty time. xAncaster ended up below its season average of 23.0 penalty minutes per game. The Avalanche excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. xAncaster outdid its season average for goals scored. The Avalanche have scored at the pace of 3.8 goals per game during the current campaign. xAncaster also got points from Blake Luscombe, who also tallied three goals and two assists, Michael Pollice, who also registered three goals and two assists, Jake Milligan, who also finished with three goals and two assists, and Zach Nieminen, who also grabbed one goal and four assists. Others who scored for xAncaster included Noah Matteson (APM) and Hayden Guitard, who scored one goal each. More assists for xAncaster came via Marcus Baird, who had one, Nicholas Camano, who had three, and Eric Eustace, Jake Bain, Luke Zupan, Max Balinson, and Ryan Lewis, who contributed two a piece. The Pirates were helped by Brock Ackerman, who had two goals and two assists. Ackerman scored the first of his two goals at 17:54 into the second period to make the score 10-1 xAncaster. James Mense-Detrich picked up the assist. Ackerman's next tally made the score 13-4 xAncaster with 6:17 left in the third period. Mense-Detrich assisted on the tally. xPort Colborne additionally got points from Mense-Detrich, who also finished with one goal and three assists and Matthew White, who also registered one goal and two assists. xPort Colborne also got a goal from Quinn Geddes as well. xAncaster took out Stevenson Staious after he had made seven saves and installed Matt Calas in goal, where he finished with six saves and the win. The Avalanche registered zero goals on zero power play opportunities.
