Amherstburg downs Blenheim in overtime, 6-5 (OT)

The Amherstburg Admirals' Chad Copeland scored 1:59 into overtime to beat the Blenheim Blades, 6-5 (OT).

In a losing effort, Blenheim was paced by Kirk McKillop, who had two goals. McKillop scored the first of his two goals at 16:19 into the first period to make the score 4-2 Amherstburg. Justin Rossignol assisted on the tally. McKillop's next tally made the score 4-3 Amherstburg with 18:40 left in the second period. Corbin Hagerman picked up the assist.

In the losing effort, the Blades were led by McKillop, who racked up two goals.

Amherstburg surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Admirals average 3.4 goals per game.

Amherstburg additionally got points from Mark Sobocan, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Dan Matoski, who also registered one goal and one assist, Blake Rutckyj, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Brett Beattie, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Jordan Luciw, who also had one goal and one assist. In addition, Amherstburg received assists from Ryan Jones, who had one and Josh Laframboise and Curtis Prymack, who each chipped in two.

Blenheim forced Amherstburg goalie Arren Romeril to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots.

Blenheim also got points from Cam Aitken, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Blenheim included Dylan Muzzatti and Derek Muzzatti, who each put in one. More assists for Blenheim came via Tyler Boughner, who had one and Drew Marlatt, who had two.

Romeril rejected 30 shots on goal for the Admirals. Amherstburg incurred 26 minutes in penalty time with three minors. Eric Stewardson made three saves before being replaced by Adam Lebouef, who took the otl and made 21 saves. The Blades incurred 40 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Team's Ben Pataki APM and McKillop were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
