Ennet leads Mitchell over Kincardine, 5-2

Jerry Ennet had two goals and three assists to lead the Mitchell Hawks to a 5-2 victory over the Kincardine Bulldogs.

Ennet found the back of the net 9:51 into the second period to make the score 2-2 and again while 12:40 into the second to make the score 3-2 Mitchell.

Mitchell's penalty kill excelled, as the Hawks gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays.

Mitchell stifled Kincardine's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Hawks kept the Bulldogs' goalie busy throughout the game, and Mitch Campbell made 40 saves on 45 shots. Mitchell was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 28 penalty minutes.

Mitchell additionally got points from Joe Gioia, who also racked up two goals and one assist. Wil Marcy also scored for Mitchell. Other players who recorded assists for Mitchell were Jalen Aitcheson, who had two and Blake Pickering, who had four.

Kincardine's offense operated below it season average. The Bulldogs average 4.2 goals per game. Kincardine's offense rang up 38 shots on the Hawks' net. The Bulldogs managed to hold Mitchell's power play largely in check, allowing only one goal while on the disadvantage. Kincardine could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 32 minutes in penalties during the game.

The Bulldogs were helped by Cody Britton, who finished with one goal. Britton scored 16:21 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Kincardine. Brett Catto provided the assist. Kincardine also got a goal from Chad Simpson as well. More assists for Kincardine came via Gerritt Satosek and Luke Czuczman, who each chipped in one.

Tyler MacGregor recorded 36 saves for the Hawks.
