Pickering downs Burlington, 4-1

Keegan Ackerland finished with two points to lead the Pickering Panthers to a 4-1 victory over the Burlington Cougars.

Pickering managed to stay out of the box better than usual, racking up one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Panthers finished below its season average of 16.0 penalty minutes per game. Pickering's offense rang up 40 shots on Burlington's net.

Pickering additionally got points from Riley Devine, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Pickering also had goals scored by Michael Walker and Brodie Tutton, who each put in one. More assists for Pickering came via Tanner Shaw, Robert Cammalleri, Nicholas Lepone, and Mike Nedoszytko, who each chipped in one.

The Cougars put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Panthers to score on any of their four power plays.

Burlington was led by Wyatt Trainer, who scored the team's only goal. Trainer scored 10:39 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Pickering. Spencer Herbst assisted on the tally.

Steven Dombrosky rejected 19 shots on goal for Pickering. Jeremy Currie recorded 36 saves for the Cougars. Burlington incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
