The Carleton Place Canadians had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-0 win over the Gloucester Rangers. Stephen Cooney was all over the ice for Carleton Place, as he tallied two goals in the win. Cooney scored at 8:40 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Carleton Place and again while on the power play 16:42 into the third to make the score 6-0 Carleton Place. Gloucester's power play was ineffective against the Canadians' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded. Carleton Place put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Rangers to score on any of their seven power plays. The Canadians' defensive effort looked to be improved. Carleton Place gives up 2.4 goals on average per game. In addition, Carleton Place received assists from Guillaume Therien, Anthony Latina, Andy Sturtz, Stephen Baylis, and Kelly Summers, who contributed one a piece and Brett DAndrea and Evan Peterson, who each chipped in two. The Rangers' offense operated below they season average. Gloucester averages 3.5 goals per game. Therien recorded 22 saves for Carleton Place. The Canadians incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. The Rangers ended with 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major.
