Central survived a determined comeback attempt by South on the way to a 6-4 win.

Central took a 6-3 lead during the third period, only to have South storm back on a Tommy Stock goal 18:06 into the third period to pull to two goals down.

Zack Johnson had one goal and two assists to lead Central. Johnson scored 18:28 into the second period to make the score 4-3 Central. Nathan Chasteen assisted on the tally.

Central forced South's goaltenders to work in net, totaling 36 shots and forcing 30 saves. Jude Hull made 14 stops and Colton Anderson made 16.

Central additionally got points from Toms Taurins, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Aaron Storch, who also registered one goal and one assist. Central also had goals scored by Ryan Martin, Mitch Riese, and Andrew Scofield, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Central were Hunter Schneider, who had two.

South managed to stay out of the box better than usual, tallying one minor for two minutes in penalty time. South wound up below its season average of 4.0 penalty minutes per game. South kept Central's goalie busy throughout the game, and Michael Paku made 28 saves on 32 shots.

South was helped by Devin Fracassi, who racked up one goal. Fracassi scored 9:35 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Dan Marotz picked up the assist. Others who scored for South included Kyle Shreve and Bo Gronseth, who scored one goal each. In addition, South received assists from Raurie Petrich, who had two and Colin South, Matthew Winkle, and Ryan Burr, who contributed one a piece.

Central ended with no penalties and went 0-for-1 on the power play. South registered zero goals on zero power play opportunities.
