Gnagni lifts East over South, 6-3

Nick Gnagni had two goals to lead East to a 6-3 victory over South.

Gnagni's tallies came at 1:08 into the first period to make the score 1-0 East and 8:24 into the second to make the score 4-2 East.

East also got points from Nick Balavich, who also registered two goals and one assist to lead the team in points and Mark McGee, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Tom Diffendal also scored for East. More assists for East came via Michael Straub, Max Vance, Cody Black, and Justin Fisher, who contributed one a piece and Connor McGovern, Stefan Horgas, and Zach MacKay, who each chipped in two.

South excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances.

South was helped by Kole Hudson, who tallied one goal. Hudson scored 18:43 into the first period to make the score 2-2. Corey Burns assisted on the tally. Others who scored for South included Kyle Shreve and Nick Rizzo, who scored one goal each. In addition, South received assists from Alex Holm, Raurie Petrich, Eric Cruickshank, and Matthew Winkle, who contributed one a piece.

East's starting goalie, Anders Franke, made 12 saves and finished with the win before he was taken out in favor of Walker Bass, who stopped 13 shots. East incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Jude Hull took the loss and made 11 saves before being replaced by Colton Anderson who made 13 saves. South incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
