West jumped out to a four-point advantage by the end of the first period and beat Central, 11-1. West got the win behind a great game by Tim Santopoalo, who had two goals and one assist. Santopoalo scored the first of his two goals at 7:40 into the first period to make the score 1-0 West. Matt Kroska assisted on the tally. Santopoalo's next tally made the score 3-0 West with 1:22 left in the first period. Kroska picked up the assist. West made Central's goaltenders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, taking 47 shots and forcing 36 saves. Billy Hindle made 16 stops and Michael Paku made 20. West stifled Central's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. West also got points from Joe Anderson, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Garrett Skinner, who also had one goal and two assists, Richie Marenis, who also registered two goals and one assist, and Christian Mohs, who also racked up one goal and one assist. West also had goals scored by Jake Mullendore, who had two and Crosby Steen and Calvin Miska, who scored one goal each. In addition, West received assists from Morgan Martelle, who had two, Jace Childs, who had four, and Bo Borowski, Ian Ecklund, Isaac Hale, and Blair Seitz, who each chipped in one. Central's penalty kill unit could not stop West's power play, which converted on two of three opportunities. Nathan Chasteen also scored for Central. More assists for Central came via Ryan Martin and Zack Johnson, who contributed one a piece. Chris Amsden recorded 16 saves for West. West incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Central incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
