Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as Shawville Pontiacs defeated Perth Blue Wings in a shootout 4-3 (1-0 SO).

Shawville Pontiacs saw a two-goal lead disappear, but was able to secure the win in a shootout. Shawville Pontiacs made the score 3-1 on a goal by Danick Genest at 16:15 in the second period. Perth Blue Wings evened things up at 3-3 on a goal by Blair Barr at 16:10 in the third period.

Shawville Pontiacs was sparked by Cody Janes, who tallied one goal. Janes scored 13:59 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Nicholas Hultquist assisted on the tally.

Shawville Pontiacs put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Perth Blue Wings to score on any of its five power plays.

Liam Poirier also scored for Shawville Pontiacs. In addition, Shawville Pontiacs received assists from Lucas Driscoll-McKinnon, who had two and Dylan Scott and Etienne Tremblay-Fortin, who contributed one a piece.

Shawville Pontiacs was unable to stop Perth Blue Wings from sending pucks towards the net, and Perth Blue Wings eventually piled up 36 shots on goal.

Perth Blue Wings was helped by Alex Vala, who racked up two goals. Vala scored the first of his two goals at 11:15 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Perth Blue Wings. Vala's next tally made the score 3-2 Shawville Pontiacs with 12:51 left in the third period. Barr provided the assist. Perth Blue Wings additionally got points from Barr, who also registered one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Perth Blue Wings were Andrew Davis and Christian Bueti, who each chipped in one.

Danick Boisvert recorded 33 saves for Shawville Pontiacs. Shawville Pontiacs incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Perth Blue Wings' Cam Lerner stopped 18 shots out of the 21 that he faced. Perth Blue Wings ended with nine minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major. For Perth Blue Wings, Brock Stashick was ejected from the game.
