Chicago Fury (MM) uses early goal to top Oakland Jr. Grizzlies (MM), 3-1

HAYDEN SMITH scored the go-ahead goal in the first period, and Chicago Fury (MM) held off the challenges of Oakland Jr. Grizzlies (MM) in a tough 3-1 win.

A goal 11:01 into the the first period by SMITH proved to be the game winner, and powered Chicago Fury (MM) to the victory SCOTT SWANSON assisted on the tally.

Chicago Fury (MM) was paced by ANDREW BUSSEY, who tallied one goal. BUSSEY scored 12:58 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Chicago Fury (MM). GARRETT RIEBLING provided the assist.

Chicago Fury (MM)'s penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Oakland Jr. Grizzlies (MM) power plays.

Chicago Fury (MM) also got a goal from JOSEPH KINSELLA as well. In addition, Chicago Fury (MM) received assists from Jason Kowalczyk, who had one and Jack Nile, who had two.

Oakland Jr. Grizzlies (MM) put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Chicago Fury (MM) to score on any of its three power plays.

Oakland Jr. Grizzlies (MM) was led by Gregory Aliotta, who scored the team's only goal. Aliotta scored 11:39 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Chicago Fury (MM). Georgy Gorodetskiy assisted on the tally.

Jeremy Wik made 21 saves for Chicago Fury (MM) on 22 shots. Chicago Fury (MM) incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Michael Tilford recorded 20 saves for Oakland Jr. Grizzlies (MM). Oakland Jr. Grizzlies (MM) incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
