Campbellford rips Amherstview, 6-1Campbellford-Seymour CC Sun, Dec 29, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Campbellford Rebels had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-1 win over the Amherstview Jets. jeremy dorghty had a great game for Campbellford, netting two goals. Dorghty scored on the power play at 18:59 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Campbellford and again while 14:16 into the third to make the score 5-1 Campbellford. The Rebels pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 24 penalty minutes. Campbellford excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. The Rebels forced Amherstview goalie Trpy Paquette to work between the pipes, taking 42 shots. Campbellford also got points from Ryan Crowley, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Andy Paul, who also grabbed one goal and two assists to lead the team in points, and Jordan Boutilier, who also registered one goal and one assist. Nick Ferguson also scored for Campbellford. In addition, Campbellford received assists from Andrew Doxtator, who had two and Reilly McGuire, Brad Jacklin, and Grant Fry, who each chipped in one. The Jets were held below their usual level of production. Amherstview averages 3.9 goals per game. The Jets could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game. Amherstview was led by Zach Masterson, who scored the team's only goal. Masterson scored 18:09 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Campbellford. Brody Taylor assisted on the tally. Cole Mahoney recorded 23 saves for Campbellford. The Rebels registered one goal on four power play opportunities. For Campbellford, Jacklin was ejected from the game. Troy Paquette made 36 saves for the Jets on 42 shots.
