Waterloo holds on for 3-2 win against Brampton

The Waterloo Siskins survived a determined comeback attempt by the Brampton Bombers on the way to a 3-2 win.

Waterloo made the score 3-1 on a goal by Evan Kearns at 15:48 in the second period, and Brampton got as close as 3-2 when Brad Sheppard scored 15:38 into the third period.

The Siskins were led by Kearns, who tallied one goal and one assist.

Others who scored for Waterloo included Evan Buehler and Ryan Taylor, who scored one goal each. In addition, Waterloo received assists from Danny Hanlon, who had two and Matt Martin, Nick Hirst, and Christian Mroczkowski, who contributed one a piece.

Chris Maione also scored for Brampton. More assists for Brampton came via Mark Shoemaker, Brandon Stapley, and Francois Cote, who each chipped in one.

Ryan Hergott recorded 15 saves for Waterloo. The Siskins incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Scott Patton made 26 saves for the Bombers on 29 shots. Brampton incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
