 Paris beats Delhi 3-2 after comeback scareBrant Sports Complex    Tue, Jan 21, 2014 Story by Narrative Science. The Paris Mounties survived a determined comeback attempt by the Delhi Travellers on the way to a 3-2 win. Paris took a 3-1 lead during the second period, only to have Delhi storm back on a Michael Thomlison goal 2:10 into the third period to pull to one goal down. In the losing effort, the Travellers were led by Thomlison, who finished with two goals. Thomlison scored the first of his two goals short handed at 8:45 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Paris. Delhi played down a man on Josh Bradshaw's tripping. Mike DeCoene assisted on the tally. Thomlison's next tally short handed made the score 3-2 Paris with 17:50 left in the third period. The Mounties' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Delhi power plays. Paris forced the Travellers goalie Nick Heath to work between the pipes, taking 47 shots. The Mounties were helped by Richard Brooks, who registered one goal. Brooks scored 14:03 into the second period to make the score Paris. Graham Kitching provided the assist. Paris additionally got points from Brady Wheelans, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Matthew Small, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, Paris received assists from Brian Mueller, who had one. Delhi put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Paris to score on any of its three power plays. Zach Schompe recorded 24 saves for the Mounties. Paris incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Travellers' Heath stopped 44 shots out of the 47 that he faced. Delhi incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. For the Travellers, Mick Finn-Dunn was ejected from the game.
