Parker nets hat trick, leads San Diego Gulls to 10-0 win over New Mexico Renegades

Will Parker netted a hat trick to lead San Diego Gulls over New Mexico Renegades, 10-0.

Parker's first goal came 16:33 into the first period. He then added goals at 11:38 into the second and at 22:42 into the second.

San Diego Gulls made New Mexico Renegades' goalies to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, taking 42 shots and forcing 32 saves. Ryan Sandrin made 16 stops and Brendan Hanser made 16. San Diego Gulls put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow New Mexico Renegades to score on any of its five power plays. San Diego Gulls' goal total was higher than its season average. San Diego Gulls has scored at the pace of 3.4 goals per game during the current campaign. San Diego Gulls got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed five goals during the game.

San Diego Gulls also got points from Michael Leone, who also registered one goal and one assist, Drew DePalma, who also tallied one goal and three assists, and Felix Kronwall, who also racked up two goals and two assists. San Diego Gulls also got a goal from Eric Baldwin as well. More assists for San Diego Gulls came via Kalvis Ozols, who had two, Mark Birchall, who had three, and Kyle Rimbach, Ustin Molochkov, and Cole Bohdan, who contributed one a piece.

Penalties took their toll on New Mexico Renegades, as its penalty kill unit let in three power play goals.

Eric Eidessen recorded 19 saves for San Diego Gulls. San Diego Gulls incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. New Mexico Renegades incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
