Great Falls vanquishes Billings in shootout, 4-3 (2-0 SO)

Steven Goran scored the clinching goal in a shootout, and the Great Falls Americans picked up the extra point in a 4-3 (2-0 SO) win over the Billings Bulls.

The shootout lasted for seven attempts between the teams. In addition to the clincher, Great Falls got a shootout goal from Goran.

In a losing effort, Billings was paced by Matt Myers, who finished with two goals. Myers scored the first of his two goals at 14:39 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Nik Nasby picked up the assist. Myers' next tally made the score 2-2 with -293 seconds left in the first period.

In a losing effort, the Bulls were led by Myers, who registered two goals.

The Americans made Billings' goaltenders to work all game long, firing 34 shots and forcing 30 saves. Daniel Oordt made 15 stops and Ray Smith made 15.

Great Falls was led by Goran, who tallied one goal. Goran scored 48 seconds into the second period to make the score 3-2 Great Falls. Lucas Stover provided the assist. Great Falls also had goals scored by Cody Page and Johnathan Carpenter, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Great Falls were Erik Powell, Austin Krantz, and Dylan Garton, who each chipped in one.

Billings also got a goal from Ralfs Karelis as well. In addition, Billings received assists from Jacob Martinez and Sam Orth, who contributed one a piece.

Erik Powell made 14 saves for the Americans on 17 shots. Great Falls incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Bulls incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
