The Billings Bulls and the Yellowstone Quake both failed to score in overtime, but Billings won the game 5-4 (3-2 SO) after Colter Endy's deciding goal in the shootout. The two teams needed 12 turns to complete the shootout. Yellowstone's shootout goals were scored by Josh Neumann and Jimmy Tich. The Bulls' other shootout goals were scored by T J Theodosopoulos and Cody Phillips.Tristen Heinrichs and Endy provided the spark for Billings, combining for four goals and one assist. Heinrichs registered two goals and one assist and Endy also added two goals. The Bulls made the Quake's goaltenders to work between the pipes, launching 31 shots and forcing 26 saves. Case Hansen made zero stops and Rocco Yapello made 26. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. Billings also got a goal from Stephen Thompson as well. Other players who recorded assists for Billings were Phillips, who had two and Ralfs Karelis, Jacob Martinez, Conner Brady, and Theodosopoulos, who contributed one a piece. Yellowstone forced Bulls' netminders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, getting 35 shots and forcing 31 saves. Ray Smith made nine stops and Cole Semchak made 22. The Quake were helped by Tich, who tallied two goals. Tich scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 18:01 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Billings. Yellowstone had gotten the advantage when Billings' Sam Orth was sent off for interference. Jaden Sveinson picked up the assist. Tich's next tally on the power play made the score 3-2 Billings with 19:08 left in the second period. Sawyer Scanlan provided the assist. Yellowstone also got points from Scanlan, who also had two goals and one assist. In addition, Yellowstone received assists from Mike McCullen, who had three. The Bulls incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. The Quake incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
