Thunder AAA Hockey (MM) uses shootout to best Kansas City Mavs Elite (MM), 3-2 (1-0 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as Thunder AAA Hockey (MM) defeated Kansas City Mavs Elite (MM) in a shootout 3-2 (1-0 SO).

The shootout lasted for six attempts between the teams.

Thunder AAA Hockey (MM) saw a two-goal lead disappear, but was able to secure the win in a shootout. Thunder AAA Hockey (MM) made the score 2-0 on a short handed goal by Connor Wood at 13:19 in the second period. Kansas City Mavs Elite (MM) evened things up at 2-2 on a short handed goal by Jaleel Rosemond at 16:01 in the third period.

Thunder AAA Hockey (MM) was led by Wood, who tallied one goal.

Thunder AAA Hockey (MM) excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Thunder AAA Hockey (MM)'s offense rang up 45 shots on Kansas City Mavs Elite (MM)'s net.

Maxwell Dorfman also scored for Thunder AAA Hockey (MM). In addition, Thunder AAA Hockey (MM) received assists from Cole Crawford, who had one.

Kansas City Mavs Elite (MM) put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Thunder AAA Hockey (MM) to score on any of its four power plays. Thunder AAA Hockey (MM)'s defense shut down Kansas City Mavs Elite (MM)'s forwards for much of the game, and Kansas City Mavs Elite (MM) got off only 13 shots during the contest.

More assists for Kansas City Mavs Elite (MM) came via Sean Kamstra and B Millerboard, who each chipped in one.

Nicholas Anderson made 11 saves for Thunder AAA Hockey (MM) on 13 shots. Thunder AAA Hockey (MM) incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Matthew Millendorf recorded 42 saves for Kansas City Mavs Elite (MM). Kansas City Mavs Elite (MM) incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors.
