Dallas Stars (MM) falls to Thunder AAA Hockey (MM) in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

Thunder AAA Hockey (MM)'s Shawn OMeara scored 3:31 into overtime to beat Dallas Stars (MM), 5-4 (OT).

Thunder AAA Hockey (MM) came back from a three-goal deficit to capture the victory. Thunder AAA Hockey (MM) was down 4-1 after a goal by Dallas Stars (MM)'s Matt Bissell at 1:38 in the third period. Thunder AAA Hockey (MM) knotted things up at 4-4 on a goal by Mitchell Foster at 17:14 in the third period.

Thunder AAA Hockey (MM)'s penalty kill excelled, as Thunder AAA Hockey (MM) gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays.

Thunder AAA Hockey (MM) stifled Dallas Stars (MM)'s power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Thunder AAA Hockey (MM) kept Dallas Stars (MM)'s goalie busy throughout the game, and Brock Thompson made 39 saves on 44 shots. Thunder AAA Hockey (MM) got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed three goals during the game. Thunder AAA Hockey (MM) could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game.

Thunder AAA Hockey (MM) also got points from Mitch Fossier, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Thunder AAA Hockey (MM) included Kyle Hartman and Christopher Magee, who each put in one. In addition, Thunder AAA Hockey (MM) received assists from Cody Thomas, Tyler Tate, Luc Soares, and Connor Wood, who contributed one a piece and Nathan Krusko and Zach Sarnowski, who each chipped in two.

Dallas Stars (MM)'s penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on eight Thunder AAA Hockey (MM) power plays. Dallas Stars (MM) was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 26 penalty minutes.

Dallas Stars (MM) was led by Carson Kelley, who tallied two goals. Kelley scored the first of his two goals at 5:38 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Dallas Stars (MM). Troy York assisted on the tally. Kelley's next tally made the score 2-0 Dallas Stars (MM) with 13:23 left in the first period. Colin OBrien picked up the assist. Andrew Durham also scored for Dallas Stars (MM). Other players who recorded assists for Dallas Stars (MM) were Caleb Waters and c Delisle, who contributed one a piece.

Joseph Cruz recorded 16 saves for Thunder AAA Hockey (MM).
