Gloucester rides Skidmore to victory over Cornwall, 2-1Earl Armstrong Arena Mon, Dec 09, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Gloucester Rangers relied on the sparkling performance of Nate Skidmore in net to grab a 2-1 win against the Cornwall Colts. Gloucester was sparked by Nicolas Beaudin, who registered one goal. Beaudin scored 10:31 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Gloucester. Matt Rosebrook picked up the assist. The Rangers made Cornwall's netminders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, launching 39 shots and forcing 37 saves. Jordan Piccolino made 16 stops and James Edwardson made 21. Gloucester's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Cornwall power plays. Gloucester also got a goal from Maximian Veronneau as well. Other players who recorded assists for Gloucester were Matt Foget and Greg Jansz, who contributed one a piece. The Colts excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Cornwall kept the Rangers' goalie busy throughout the game, and Skidmore made 37 saves on 38 shots. The Colts were led by Marly Quince, who scored the team's only goal. Quince scored 4:04 into the third period to make the score 1-1. Parker Krol provided the assist. Gloucester incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Cornwall incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
