Perth Pelicans uses big games from Dumpleton and Cunliffe to down Perth Sharks, 7-2

Behind one goal and three assists from Rhys Dumpleton and three goals and one assist from Zane Cunliffe, Perth Pelicans downed Perth Sharks 7-2.

Dumpleton scored 7:06 into the second period to make the score 3-0 Perth Pelicans. Kieren Webster assisted on the tally.

Perth Pelicans' offense was clicking better than usual and put 30 shots on goal during the game, better than the 2.8 shots per game it averages. Perth Pelicans bested its season scoring average. Perth Pelicans has scored at the pace of 3.6 goals per game during the current campaign.

Perth Pelicans also got points from Webster, who also finished with two goals and two assists and Cunliffe, who also grabbed three goals and one assist. Perth Pelicans also got a goal from Ronan Devahasdin as well. More assists for Perth Pelicans came via Chris Shade, who had one and Lyndon Lodge, who had two.

Perth Sharks managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Perth Sharks ended up below its season average of 14.0 penalty minutes per game. By firing 17 shots on goal, Perth Sharks exceeded the 1.8 shot it averages per game this year. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Perth Sharks was led by William Moffatt, who had two goals. Moffatt scored the first of his two goals at 14:43 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Perth Pelicans. Bruno Stolze picked up the assist. Moffatt's next tally made the score 4-2 Perth Pelicans with 14:24 left in the third period. Ryan Smith provided the assist. In addition, Perth Sharks received assists from Shaun Tobin, who had one.

Stephen McCann made three saves before being replaced by Dathan Pleiter, who took the win and made 12 saves. Perth Pelicans incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors and had no power play opportunities. Perth Sharks took out Mark McCann after he had made 16 saves and installed Thomas Boschman in goal, where he finished with seven saves and the loss. Perth Sharks registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
