Sydney Wolf Pack beats Melbourne Glaciers 2-1 after comeback scare

Melbourne Glaciers tried to dig itself out of a two-goal hole, but Sydney Wolf Pack held on for a 2-1 victory.

Sydney Wolf Pack took a 2-0 lead during the third period, only to have Melbourne Glaciers storm back on a Sam Hodic goal 9:31 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

Melbourne Glaciers' power play was ineffective against Sydney Wolf Pack's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

Sydney Wolf Pack was led by Alec Stephenson, who racked up one goal. Stephenson scored 4:48 into the third period to make the score Sydney Wolf Pack. Scott Clemie provided the assist.

Sydney Wolf Pack put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Melbourne Glaciers to score on any of its six power plays. The 17 shots that Sydney Wolf Pack put on net surpassed Sydney Wolf Pack's average of 2.3 shots per game this season.
