Huge game by Chasteen boosts Peoria over Chicago, 6-2

Behind a great game by Nathan Chasteen, who had two goals and two assists, the Peoria Mustangs defeated the Chicago Junior Bulldogs, 6-2.

Chasteen found the back of the net 54 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Peoria and again while 16:29 into the first to make the score 3-0 Peoria.

Peoria managed to stay out of the box better than usual, racking up one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Mustangs ended up below its season average of 18.0 penalty minutes per game. Peoria kept Chicago's goalie busy throughout the game, and Michael Krch made 36 saves on 42 shots.

Peoria additionally got points from Andrew Scofield, who also had two goals and one assist. Others who scored for Peoria included Blake Ortman and Chance Homerin, who each put in one. More assists for Peoria came via Sam Turner, who had two and Levi Armstrong, Austin Wisely, Joshua Hart, and Gage Van Order, who contributed one a piece.

The Junior Bulldogs were helped by Christopher Wachal, who registered one goal and one assist. Wachal scored 14:36 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Peoria. Ryan Maksimovic picked up the assist. Chicago also got points from Maksimovic, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. In addition, Chicago received assists from Matt Blaszkiewicz and Jeremy Szczurek, who each chipped in one.

Marc Hayton rejected 26 shots on goal for the Mustangs. Peoria registered two goals on five power play opportunities. Chicago incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
