The University at Albany Great Danes climbed out of a four-goal hole to beat Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, 6-5.

University at Albany let multiple leads slip away before eventually digging out of a four hole to pick up the win. The Great Danes took a 1-0 advantage on a goal by Sean Duffy at 32 seconds in the first period. University at Albany found itself down 5-1 after Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute's Craig Wilson put the puck home at 11:47 in the second period. After knotting things up at 5-5 on a power play goal by Mike Defranco at 17:10 in the third, the Great Danes got the game-winner from Jonathan Demeo at 18:47 in the third period.

Demeo had two goals and one assist to lead University at Albany. Demeo scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 16:28 into the third period to make the score 5-4 Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Gavin Grogan picked up the assist. Demeo's next tally on the power play made the score 6-5 University at Albany with 1:13 left in the third period. Duffy provided the assist.

The Great Danes put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute to score on any of its six power plays.
