Dallas Stars (MM) erases deficit to stun Phoenix Jr. Coyotes (MM), 5-4

Dallas Stars (MM) rallied from two goals down to secure a 5-4 win over Phoenix Jr. Coyotes (MM).

Dallas Stars (MM) let multiple leads slip away before eventually digging out of a two hole to pick up the win. Dallas Stars (MM) took a 1-0 advantage on a power play goal by Carson Kelley at 14:15 in the first period. Dallas Stars (MM) found itself down 4-2 after Phoenix Jr. Coyotes (MM)'s Adam Kleven put the puck home at 4:59 in the third period. After evening things up at 4-4 on a goal by Troy York at 7:18 in the third, Dallas Stars (MM) got the game-winner from York at 16:11 in the third period.

York was all over the ice for Dallas Stars (MM), as he registered two goals in the win.

Dallas Stars (MM) stifled Phoenix Jr. Coyotes (MM)'s power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Dallas Stars (MM)'s offense rang up 34 shots on Phoenix Jr. Coyotes (MM)'s net. Dallas Stars (MM) struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 16 penalty minutes for six opposing power plays.

Dallas Stars (MM) also got points from Chris Beck, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Kelley, who also had two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. More assists for Dallas Stars (MM) came via Cody Wickline, who had three and Colin OBrien and Andrew Durham, who contributed one a piece.

Phoenix Jr. Coyotes (MM) could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game.

Phoenix Jr. Coyotes (MM) was helped by Tristian Pfiefer, who grabbed one goal. Pfiefer scored 2:39 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Phoenix Jr. Coyotes (MM). Lukas Gartner assisted on the tally. Phoenix Jr. Coyotes (MM) additionally got points from Chris Nicolai, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Phoenix Jr. Coyotes (MM) also got a goal from Matt Littler as well. Other players who recorded assists for Phoenix Jr. Coyotes (MM) were Evan Nickels, who had one.

Jay Harrington made 21 saves before being replaced by Brock Thompson, who took the win and made four saves. Dallas Stars (MM) registered one goal on six power play opportunities. Phoenix Jr. Coyotes (MM)'s Andrew Shortridge stopped 29 shots out of the 34 that he faced.
