Farmingdale State squeaks by Richard Stockton, 4-3Freeport Rec Centre Sat, Nov 09, 2013 In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Farmingdale State Rams escaped with a 4-3 victory over Richard Stockton. Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Jack Radin secured the win for Farmingdale State with a goal in the third period. Radin had a great game for the Rams, netting two goals. Farmingdale State's penalty kill excelled, as the Rams gave up one goal despite allowing 11 power plays. Farmingdale State racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with 11 minors and one major for 27 minutes in penalty time. The Rams surpassed its season average of 15.0 penalty minutes per game. Farmingdale State kept Richard Stockton's goalie busy throughout the game, and Eddie Rafferty made 29 saves on 33 shots. The Rams got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game. Michael Leprine also scored for Farmingdale State. In addition, Farmingdale State received assists from John Mendicino, Matthew Johnson, Justin Von Wieding, Kyle Catalano, and Joseph Petrizzo, who contributed one a piece. Richard Stockton found itself short handed often, totaling 34 penalty minutes and allowing 10 power plays. Richard Stockton was led by Tyler Martin, who had two goals. Martin scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 2:47 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Richard Stockton had taken the advantage when Farmingdale State's Alex Conover got sent off for tripping. Ken Yasenchock provided the assist. Martin's next tally on the power play made the score 2-2 with 8:59 left in the second period. Alessandro Morelli assisted on the tally. Richard Stockton also got a goal from Danny Griffiths as well. Greg Jacobsen recorded 22 saves for the Rams. |
