Leprine leads Farmingdale State over Alvernia University, 8-1Freeport Rec Centre Sat, Nov 02, 2013 Michael Leprine had two goals and one assist to lead the Farmingdale State Rams to an 8-1 victory over Alvernia University. Leprine found the back of the net 12:37 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Farmingdale State and again while on the power play 14:49 into the third to make the score 7-1 Farmingdale State.Alvernia University was doomed by its poor performance on special teams, as Farmingdale State was able to score four times while on the power play. The Rams put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Alvernia University to score on any of its seven power plays. Alvernia University was unable to stop Farmingdale State from sending pucks towards the net, and the Rams eventually piled up 33 shots on goal. Farmingdale State found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The Rams average 5.9 goals per game. The defensemen of Farmingdale State were also effective in Alvernia University's zone, and came away with three goals. Farmingdale State additionally got points from Scott Brennan, who also tallied one goal and two assists, Matthew Johnson, who also grabbed two goals and one assist, and Kyle Catalano, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Matthew Kelerchain also scored for Farmingdale State. More assists for Farmingdale State came via Danato Carbone, Joseph Petrizzo, Michael Goldstein, and John Mendicino, who each chipped in one. Alvernia University found itself stymied offensively, and got off a mere 13 shots against the Rams' defense. Alvernia University could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 22 minutes in penalties during the game. Alvernia University was led by Anthony Galeano, who scored the team's only goal. Galeano scored 10:19 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Greg Jacobsen took the win and made six saves before being replaced by Austin Liddycoat who made six saves. Farmingdale State incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Mike Durofchalk made 25 saves for Alvernia University on 33 shots.
