Farmingdale State squeaks by Bryn Athyn University, 5-3

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Farmingdale State Rams escaped with a 5-3 victory over Bryn Athyn University.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Matthew Ginsberg secured the win for Farmingdale State with a goal in the third period.

The Rams pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 12 penalty minutes.

Farmingdale State forced Bryn Athyn University goalie Kyle Watters to work between the pipes, taking 44 shots.

The Rams were helped by Kyle Catalano, who finished with two goals. Catalano scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 18:13 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Bryn Athyn University. Farmingdale State earned a power play opportunity when Watters was put in the box for slashing. Michael Leprine provided the assist. Catalano's next tally on the power play made the score 3-3 with 12:44 left in the third period. Scott Brennan assisted on the tally. Farmingdale State also got a goal from Jack Radin as well. Other players who recorded assists for Farmingdale State were Brendan Ciliotta and Matthew Johnson, who contributed one a piece.

Bryn Athyn University struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 17 penalty minutes for seven opposing power plays.

Bryn Athyn University was led by Scott Witmyer, who grabbed two goals and one assist. Witmyer scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 7:42 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Bryn Athyn University. Bryn Athyn University had gotten the advantage when the Rams' Edward Grunwald was sent off for tripping. Terrence Johnson provided the assist. Witmyer's next tally on the power play made the score 2-1 Bryn Athyn University with 15:29 left in the second period. Bryn Athyn University played down a man on Raymond Norfo's cross checking. Blake McCurdy also scored for Bryn Athyn University. In addition, Bryn Athyn University received assists from David Dalcartivo, who had one.

Austin Liddycoat rejected 16 shots on goal for Farmingdale State. Bryn Athyn University's Watters stopped 39 shots out of the 44 that he faced. Bryn Athyn University registered one goal on six power play opportunities.
