Huge game by Leprine boosts Farmingdale State over Fairfield University, 6-3

Behind a great game by Michael Leprine, who had one goal and two assists, the Farmingdale State Rams defeated the Fairfield University Stags, 6-3.

Leprine got on the board by slotting home a goal 16:18 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Farmingdale State. Leprine dished an assist on Jack Radin's goal that made the score 2-1 Farmingdale State at 10:21 into the first period. He added another helper on John Mendicino's goal that made the score 5-3 Farmingdale State at 16:54 into the third period.

Farmingdale State's penalty kill excelled, as the Rams gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays.

Farmingdale State stifled Fairfield University's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Rams' offense rang up 31 shots on the Stags' net. Farmingdale State's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as the Rams finished with 24 penalty minutes.

Farmingdale State also got points from Radin, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Farmingdale State also got a goal from Justin Von Wieding as well. In addition, Farmingdale State received assists from Brendan Ciliotta, Scott Brennan, and Matthew Johnson, who contributed one a piece.

Fairfield University's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Farmingdale State power plays.

The Stags were helped by Jeffrey Gaita, who tallied one goal. Gaita scored 8:06 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Farmingdale State. Matthew Peacock assisted on the tally. Kevin Gavin also scored for Fairfield University. More assists for Fairfield University came via Jeff Rosata, Marc Deluca, and Christian Habberstad, who each chipped in one.

Austin Liddycoat rejected 26 shots on goal for Farmingdale State. Brian OLoughlin recorded 25 saves for Fairfield University. The Stags incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
