Traverse City Hounds blows out Bloomington Jr Blaze, 10-2

Traverse City Hounds had a seven-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 10-2 win over Bloomington Jr Blaze.

Josh Smith was a peerless playmaker for Traverse City Hounds, as he dished out four to beat Bloomington Jr Blaze,.

Traverse City Hounds pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 10 penalty minutes.

Traverse City Hounds made Bloomington Jr Blaze's goaltenders to work without much rest, finishing with 43 shots and forcing 33 saves. Kent Nusbaum made 22 stops and Vladyslav Plakhotnyi made 11. Traverse City Hounds excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. Traverse City Hounds' goal total was higher than its season average. Traverse City Hounds has scored at the pace of 5.4 goals per game during the current campaign. Traverse City Hounds got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed four goals during the game.

Traverse City Hounds also got points from Scott Luca, who also registered three goals and one assist, Vaughn Clouston, who also finished with two goals and one assist, Kevin Miloser, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, and Premysl Synek, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Traverse City Hounds included Bobby Schumacher, Jacob Gillis, and Patrick Rogowski, who each put in one. More assists for Traverse City Hounds came via Grant McCormack, who had two and Alex Devries, Alexander Grizzel, and Kenneth Simmons Jr, who contributed one a piece.

Bloomington Jr Blaze stifled Traverse City Hounds' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Bloomington Jr Blaze was helped by Peter Carlin, who had two goals. Carlin scored the first of his two goals at 2:37 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Bloomington Jr Blaze. Steven Smoltz picked up the assist. Carlin's next tally made the score 9-2 Traverse City Hounds with 4:16 left in the third period. Justus Kree provided the assist. In addition, Bloomington Jr Blaze received assists from Tanner Vallon, who had one.

Bryce Goulah recorded 19 saves for Traverse City Hounds. Traverse City Hounds registered zero goals on three power play opportunities. Bloomington Jr Blaze incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
