Soo Firehawks boosted by Benvenuti's play in net, beats Bloomington Jr Blaze 3-1

Soo Firehawks relied on the sparkling performance of Anthony Benvenuti in net to grab a 3-1 win against Bloomington Jr Blaze.

Soo Firehawks was led by Nicholas Murphy, who finished with one goal and one assist. Murphy scored 53 seconds into the second period to make the score 2-1 Soo Firehawks. Kevin Killips provided the assist.

Soo Firehawks' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Bloomington Jr Blaze power plays. Soo Firehawks was held below its usual level of production. Soo Firehawks puts an average of 5.3 pucks into the net per game. Soo Firehawks forced Bloomington Jr Blaze goalie Paul Stomper to work between the pipes, taking 43 shots.
