Rotondo leads Michigan Ice Dogs, offense over Bloomington Jr Blaze, 6-3

Michigan Ice Dogs' offense was sparked by Marc Rotondo, as he ended with four assists in a 6-3 victory against Bloomington Jr Blaze.

Bloomington Jr Blaze's power play was ineffective against Michigan Ice Dogs' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

Michigan Ice Dogs forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up 10 minors and one major for 45 minutes in penalty time. Michigan Ice Dogs had been averaging 32.0 minutes in penalties per game. Michigan Ice Dogs stifled Bloomington Jr Blaze's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Michigan Ice Dogs forced Bloomington Jr Blaze goalie Paul Stomper to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots.

Michigan Ice Dogs also got points from Adam Stadler, who also finished with one goal and two assists. Michigan Ice Dogs also had goals scored by Jacob Murray, Drew Hull, Hunter Ledgerwood, Matthew Hartford, and Kerry Cummings, who each put in one. More assists for Michigan Ice Dogs came via Christopher Carpenter, who had two.

Bloomington Jr Blaze was helped by Dylan Farmer, who had one goal. Farmer scored 8:19 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Bloomington Jr Blaze. Nathan Zoellner picked up the assist. Bloomington Jr Blaze additionally got points from Garret Maged, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Bloomington Jr Blaze also got a goal from Duncan Irvine as well. In addition, Bloomington Jr Blaze received assists from John Urmetz and Micah Young, who each chipped in one.

Michigan Ice Dogs took out Anthony Veresan after he had made eight saves and installed Jacob Dugan in goal, where he finished with 10 saves and the win. Michigan Ice Dogs registered two goals on six power play opportunities. Michigan Ice Dogs ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Cameron Kucharski was ejected from the game. Stomper rejected 34 shots on goal for Bloomington Jr Blaze. Bloomington Jr Blaze ended with 21 minutes in penalty time with eight minors and one major.
