Traverse City Hounds scored three goals in the second period to pull away from Alpena Street Cats and clinch a 6-1 win. Tyler Thirlby had a great game for Traverse City Hounds, netting two goals. Thirlby found the back of the net 1:47 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Traverse City Hounds and again while 8:05 into the second to make the score 3-0 Traverse City Hounds. Traverse City Hounds' David Krejcik was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 26 saves and let only one puck past him. The solid play of Krejcik will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 1.62. Traverse City Hounds made Alpena Street Cats' goalies to work all game long, finishing with 41 shots and forcing 35 saves. Vlad Salangin made 14 stops and Aleksandr Shishkin made 21. Traverse City Hounds put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Alpena Street Cats to score on any of its six power plays. Traverse City Hounds also had goals scored by Kevin Miloser, who had two and Alex Devries and Patrick Rogowski, who each put in one.
