Alpena Street Cats' comeback falls short, Michigan Ice Dogs wins 6-4

Alpena Street Cats almost clawed its way back from a three-goal deficit, but Michigan Ice Dogs managed to pull out a 6-4 win in the end.

Michigan Ice Dogs led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when Michigan Ice Dogs' Marc Rotondo's scored at 17:09 in the third period to put Michigan Ice Dogs up 7-4.

Hunter Ledgerwood was all over the ice for Michigan Ice Dogs, as he tallied two goals in the win. Ledgerwood scored at 9:57 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Michigan Ice Dogs and again while on the power play 14:59 into the second to make the score 4-2 Michigan Ice Dogs.

Michigan Ice Dogs forced Alpena Street Cats' goalies to work between the pipes, ripping 47 shots and forcing 41 saves. Vladislav Graevski made 41 stops and Aleksandr Shishkin made zero.

Michigan Ice Dogs also got points from Michael Diaz, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points and Rotondo, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Michigan Ice Dogs also got a goal from Adam Stadler as well. In addition, Michigan Ice Dogs received assists from Logan Bennett and Kerry Cummings, who contributed one a piece and Brent Young, Drew Hull, and Matthew Hartford, who each chipped in two.

Alpena Street Cats put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Michigan Ice Dogs to score on any of its four power plays.

Alpena Street Cats was led by Andrei Yanovich, who grabbed three goals. Konstantin Khramov also scored for Alpena Street Cats. More assists for Alpena Street Cats came via Andrei Kiselev, Pavel Bocharov, and Vladislav Khasanov, who contributed two a piece.

Anthony Veresan made 21 saves for Michigan Ice Dogs on 25 shots. Michigan Ice Dogs incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Alpena Street Cats incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
