Boston Advantage (MM) vanquishes Chicago Fury (MM) in shootout, 6-5 (2-0 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as Boston Advantage (MM) defeated Chicago Fury (MM) in a shootout 6-5 (2-0 SO).

The shootout lasted for four attempts between the teams. Boston Advantage (MM)'s other shootout goal was scored by Pat Flynn.

Boston Advantage (MM) saw a two-goal lead disappear, but was able to secure the win in a shootout. Boston Advantage (MM) made the score 5-3 on a power play goal by Bill Moore at 9:50 in the third period. Chicago Fury (MM) evened things up at 5-5 on a power play goal by ANDREW BUSSEY at 17:14 in the third period.

In a losing effort, Chicago Fury (MM) was led by BUSSEY, who finished with two goals. BUSSEY scored the first of his two goals at 10:08 into the third period to make the score 5-4 Boston Advantage (MM). Jack Nile assisted on the tally. BUSSEY's next tally made the score with 2:46 left in the third period. Nile picked up the assist.

Boston Advantage (MM) put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Chicago Fury (MM) to score on any of its four power plays. Boston Advantage (MM) bested its season scoring average. This season, Boston Advantage (MM) averages 2.6 goals per contest. Boston Advantage (MM) gave up more goals than its normal season average. Boston Advantage (MM) averages 2.1 goals allowed per game.

Boston Advantage (MM) was led by Thomas Munichiello, who racked up one goal and one assist. Munichiello scored 6:32 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Flynn assisted on the tally.
