xOTTAWA downs xDURHAM WEST in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

xOTTAWA's Rebecca Leslie (C) scored 38 seconds into overtime to beat xDURHAM WEST, 4-3 (OT).

Leslie (C) had a great game for xOTTAWA, netting four goals. Leslie (C)'s first goal came 8:32 into the first period. He then added goals at 11:01 into the second and at 5:13 into the third.

xOTTAWA put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow xDURHAM WEST to score on any of its five power plays.

More assists for xOTTAWA came via Stacy Galasso, who had two and Maggie Knott, Kimiko Marinacci, and Caitlyn McLaren, who each chipped in one.

xDURHAM WEST's normally stingy defense allowed more goals than usual. xDURHAM WEST averages 1.8 goal allowed per game. xDURHAM WEST could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 16 minutes in penalties during the game.

xDURHAM WEST was helped by Stephanie Ford, who registered one goal. Ford scored 5:21 into the third period to make the score 3-3. Hayley Flynn assisted on the tally. xDURHAM WEST additionally got points from Kennedy Marchment (C), who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Alysha Burriss, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, xDURHAM WEST received assists from Claire Balas, Alyssa Gee, and Megan Quinn (A-home), who contributed one a piece.

xOTTAWA took out Shawlee Gaudreault after she had made 14 saves and installed Tanya Winchcombe in goal, where she finished with 10 saves and the win. xOTTAWA incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Melissa Black made 23 saves for xDURHAM WEST on 27 shots.
