NEPEAN survives penalties, beats ETOBICOKE, 4-0Carleton IH - Rink A Sat, Feb 22, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
Despite having to fight off several power plays, NEPEAN was able to defeat ETOBICOKE, 4-0. NEPEAN was paced by Alyssa Baker, who tallied one goal. Baker scored 12:54 into the first period to make the score 1-0 NEPEAN. Lindsay Eastwood(C) picked up the assist. NEPEAN stifled ETOBICOKE's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. NEPEAN forced ETOBICOKE goalie Sarah Jamieson to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots. Others who scored for NEPEAN included Karleigh Scully (PU), Blake Orosz, and Sam Cogan, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for NEPEAN were Katryne Villeneuve, who had two and Jenna MacDonald, Nicole Halladay, Josiane Pozzebon, and Addi Halladay, who each chipped in one. ETOBICOKE did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting eight shots on net to force eight saves. ETOBICOKE could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 14 minutes in penalties during the game. NEPEAN's Kira Bombay stopped eight shots out of the eight that she faced. NEPEAN incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Sarah Jamieson made 32 saves for ETOBICOKE on 36 shots. ETOBICOKE registered zero goals on seven power play opportunities.
