ETOBICOKE uses early goal to top KINGSTON, 2-0

Tegan Duncan gave ETOBICOKE the lead in the first period, and KINGSTON was never able to catch up in a close game that ended 2-0.

Duncan provided ETOBICOKE with the game-winning tally when she scored 9:48 into the the first period. Madison MacCulloch provided the assist.

Christie Honor spearheaded the defensive effort for ETOBICOKE, as she did not allow a puck past him and made 33 saves for the shutout. The solid play of Honor will be reflected in her goals against average, which pre-game was 2.73.

ETOBICOKE was led by Duncan, who grabbed one goal.

ETOBICOKE's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five KINGSTON power plays. ETOBICOKE featured an improved defense during the game. ETOBICOKE averages 2.6 goals allowed per game.

ETOBICOKE also got a goal from Alison Hanson (A) as well. In addition, ETOBICOKE received assists from Larissa Borowiec, who had one.

The KINGSTON penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled nine minors and one major for 33 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 11.0 minutes per game KINGSTON had been spending in the box. KINGSTON put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow ETOBICOKE to score on any of its nine power plays. KINGSTON's offense rang up 33 shots on ETOBICOKE's net.

ETOBICOKE incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Elizabeth Spinozzi recorded 26 saves for KINGSTON. KINGSTON ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Kailey Peirson (A) was ejected from the game.
