BARRIE tried its best to erase a three-goal deficit, but DURHAM WEST would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 3-1. DURHAM WEST took a 3-0 lead during the third period, only to have BARRIE storm back on a Kirsten MacDougall goal 6:57 into the third period to pull to two goals down. DURHAM WEST was led by Katrina Manoukarakis, who registered one goal. Manoukarakis scored 14:51 into the second period to make the score 2-0 DURHAM WEST. Megan Quinn (A-home) assisted on the tally. DURHAM WEST stifled BARRIE's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. DURHAM WEST also got points from Quinn (A-home), who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Alysha Burriss also scored for DURHAM WEST. More assists for DURHAM WEST came via Emily Jukosky, who had one and Kennedy Marchment (C), who had two. BARRIE was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 26 penalty minutes. In addition, BARRIE received assists from Tara Morning and Natasha King, who each chipped in one. Stephanie Sluys recorded 20 saves for DURHAM WEST. DURHAM WEST incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. BARRIE's Alexx Ridding stopped 18 shots out of the 21 that she faced. BARRIE registered zero goals on four power play opportunities.
