xOTTAWA squeaks by xCAMBRIDGE, 5-3

xOTTAWA gutted out a close 5-3 win against xCAMBRIDGE.

xOTTAWA gained the winning advantage on a goal by Rebecca Leslie (C) 11:52 into the second period and hung on until final buzzer.

xOTTAWA was paced by Stacy Galasso, who registered one goal and one assist. Galasso scored 7:13 into the third period to make the score 4-2 xOTTAWA. Leslie (C) picked up the assist.

xOTTAWA surpassed its usual scoring output this season. xOTTAWA has scored at the pace of 2.5 goals per game during the current campaign.

xOTTAWA additionally got points from Leslie (C), who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. xOTTAWA also had goals scored by Natalie Fraser, Anonda Hoppner, and Leah Buchanan, who each put in one. More assists for xOTTAWA came via Maggie Knott and Cassidy Herman, who contributed one a piece.

xCAMBRIDGE's defense let in more goals than it usually has this year. xCAMBRIDGE is averaging 2.3 goals against for the season.

xCAMBRIDGE was helped by Julia Schnurr, who finished with one goal. Schnurr scored 5:20 into the second period to make the score 2-1 xOTTAWA. Shannon Pearson provided the assist. xCAMBRIDGE also got points from Angela MacDonald, who also registered one goal and one assist. xCAMBRIDGE also got a goal from Emma Davidson (A) as well. Other players who recorded assists for xCAMBRIDGE were Rachel Holden, who had two and Morgan Rolph and Amanda McClure (C), who each chipped in one.

Tanya Winchcombe rejected 24 shots on goal for xOTTAWA. xOTTAWA incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Lauren Webber made nine saves before being replaced by Julia Vandyk, who took the loss and made eight saves. xCAMBRIDGE incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
