Kara Washer gave BARRIE the lead in the first period, and CAMBRIDGE was never able to catch up in a close game that ended 3-1. Washer provided BARRIE with the game-winning tally when she scored 3:01 into the the first period. Tory Harshman assisted on the tally.Washer had two goals to lead BARRIE to victory. BARRIE was led by goalie Alexx Ridding, who finished with 32 saves while allowing one goal. Ridding certainly lowered her goals against average, which was 2.51 entering the contest. BARRIE put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow CAMBRIDGE to score on any of its four power plays. Danika Phillips (PU) also scored for BARRIE. Other players who recorded assists for BARRIE were Justine Treadwell (C), who had two and Chelsea Tucker (A) and Desiree Robitaille, who each chipped in one. CAMBRIDGE stifled BARRIE's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. CAMBRIDGE's offense rang up 33 shots on BARRIE's net. CAMBRIDGE was led by Aylssa Chiarello, who scored the team's only goal. Chiarello scored 5:24 into the second period to make the score 2-1 BARRIE. Hannah Askin (A) picked up the assist. BARRIE incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Julia Vandyk took the loss and made 16 saves before being replaced by Lauren Webber who made one save. CAMBRIDGE incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
