Constantinou's big game bests SOUTHWEST in 8-1 TORONTO win

Cora Constantinou had one goal and two assists to lead TORONTO to an 8-1 victory over SOUTHWEST.

Constantinou got on the board by slotting home a goal 9:24 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Amanda Pantaleo picked up the assist. Constantinou dished an assist on Kaitlin Tse's goal that made the score 5-1 TORONTO at 5:17 into the second period. He added another helper on Sabrina Repaci's goal that made the score 8-1 TORONTO at 17:01 into the third period.

SOUTHWEST's nine penalties came back to haunt it, as SOUTHWEST let up four goals while on the penalty kill.

SOUTHWEST was unable to stop TORONTO from sending pucks towards the net, and TORONTO eventually piled up 53 shots on goal. TORONTO bested its season scoring average. TORONTO averages 3.6 goals per game.

TORONTO also got points from Breanne Wilson-Bennett, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Laura Ball, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Pantaleo, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Loren Gabel also scored for TORONTO. In addition, TORONTO received assists from Sarah Knee, who had one and Jessica Gazzola, Connor Galway (PU), Jessie Eldridge, Lauren Wildfang, and Taytum Clairmont, who contributed two a piece.

SOUTHWEST's offense was handcuffed by TORONTO's defensive play, and SOUTHWEST managed only 11 shots on goal during the game. SOUTHWEST could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 18 minutes in penalties during the game.

SOUTHWEST was led by Amy Maitre, who scored the team's only goal. Maitre scored 2:14 into the first period to make the score 1-0 SOUTHWEST. Savannah Bouzide provided the assist.

Ally Sarna made 10 saves for TORONTO on 11 shots. TORONTO incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Hanna Slater recorded 45 saves for SOUTHWEST. SOUTHWEST registered one goal on five power play opportunities.
