NEPEAN survives STONEY CREEK comeback, wins 3-2

NEPEAN survived a determined comeback attempt by STONEY CREEK on the way to a 3-2 win.

NEPEAN made the score 3-1 on a goal by Lindsay Eastwood at 19:47 in the third period, and STONEY CREEK got as close as 3-2 when Rosie Heffernan scored 20:00 into the third period.

NEPEAN got the win thanks to a great game by Addi Halladay, who had one goal and two assists. Halladay scored 4:32 into the first period to make the score 1-0 NEPEAN. Sam Cogan picked up the assist.

STONEY CREEK was unable to stop NEPEAN from sending pucks towards the net, and NEPEAN eventually piled up 36 shots on goal. NEPEAN struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 14 penalty minutes for seven opposing power plays.

NEPEAN additionally got points from Cogan, who also tallied one goal and two assists. Other players who recorded assists for NEPEAN were Katryne Villeneuve and Dallis Ferguson, who contributed one a piece.

STONEY CREEK's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on seven NEPEAN power plays. NEPEAN's defense shut down STONEY CREEK's forwards for much of the game, and STONEY CREEK got off only 14 shots during the contest.

STONEY CREEK also got a goal from Rachel Smith (PU) as well. More assists for STONEY CREEK came via Nicole Collier, who had one.

Megan Halhed recorded 12 saves for NEPEAN. Sarah McDonnell rejected 33 shots on goal for STONEY CREEK. STONEY CREEK incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
