Huge game by McCann boosts BLUEWATER over BRAMPTON, 6-3

Behind a great game by Morgan McCann, who had one goal and two assists, BLUEWATER defeated BRAMPTON, 6-3.

McCann scored 2:07 into the first period to make the score 1-0 BLUEWATER. Katherine Bailey provided the assist. McCann dished an assist on Amanda Moore's goal that made the score 4-1 BLUEWATER at 8:38 into the second period. He added another helper on Shailyn Waites's goal that made the score 6-3 BLUEWATER at 12:53 into the third period.

BLUEWATER's penalty kill excelled, as BLUEWATER gave up one goal despite allowing eight power plays.

BLUEWATER bested its season scoring average. This season, BLUEWATER averages 2.3 goals per contest. BLUEWATER got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game. BLUEWATER could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 14 minutes in penalties during the game.

BLUEWATER also had goals scored by Davis Smith (PU) and Becky Higgs, who each put in one. More assists for BLUEWATER came via Bradey Couwenberg and Taylor Philip, who contributed one a piece and Krystin Lawrence and Karley Campbell, who each chipped in two.

BRAMPTON's defense let in more goals than it usually has this year. BRAMPTON averages 2.2 goals allowed per game. BRAMPTON's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as BRAMPTON finished with 14 penalty minutes.

BRAMPTON was helped by Chelsea Ball, who registered one goal. Ball scored 14:23 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Isabella Triolo assisted on the tally. BRAMPTON additionally got points from KJ Uyeno (A), who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Emily Landry (PU) also scored for BRAMPTON. Other players who recorded assists for BRAMPTON were Vanessa Tavares, Lindsey Smith, Brooke Hartwick, and Christina Ieradi, who contributed one a piece.

Carley Molnar made 25 saves for BLUEWATER on 28 shots. BLUEWATER registered two goals on six power play opportunities. Isabelle Hunter took the loss and made 17 saves before being replaced by Katie Bidulka who made three saves.
