WHITBY rips KINGSTON, 6-1

WHITBY had a four-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-1 win over KINGSTON.

Cassidy Vinkle had two goals and one assist to lead WHITBY. Vinkle scored the first of her two goals at 4:59 into the first period to make the score 2-0 WHITBY. Vinkle's next tally made the score 4-0 WHITBY with 10:31 left in the second period. Megan Picco (PU) picked up the assist.

WHITBY's penalty kill excelled, as WHITBY gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays.

WHITBY stifled KINGSTON's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. WHITBY's offense rang up 36 shots on KINGSTON's net. WHITBY bested its season scoring average. WHITBY averages 3.2 goals per game.

WHITBY also got a goal from Rhyen McGill as well. In addition, WHITBY received assists from Madison Badeau, who had two and Megan Sullivan and CJ Tipping, who each chipped in one.

Penalties took their toll on KINGSTON, as its penalty kill unit let in three power play goals.

Kassidy Sauve rejected 15 shots on goal for WHITBY. WHITBY incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Jensen Murphy recorded 30 saves for KINGSTON. KINGSTON incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
