Tory Harshman gave BARRIE the lead in the first period, and BURLINGTON was never able to catch up in a close game that ended 3-1. BARRIE took over the lead for good with a goal by Harshman at 8:31 in the first period. Kara Washer (PU) picked up the assist.BARRIE's Becka Verschuren was a brick wall in net, as she came up with 35 saves and let only one puck past him. Verschuren certainly lowered her goals against average, which was 2.96 entering the contest. BARRIE pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 14 penalty minutes. BARRIE stifled BURLINGTON's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. BARRIE also got a goal from Justine Treadwell (C) as well. In addition, BARRIE received assists from Kirsten MacDougall and Jasmine Morning, who each chipped in one. BURLINGTON excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. BURLINGTON's offense rang up 36 shots on BARRIE's net. BURLINGTON was led by Darcy Henderson, who scored the team's only goal. Henderson scored 9:01 into the second period to make the score 2-1 BARRIE. Logan Land provided the assist. EJ Milne-Price made 17 saves for BURLINGTON on 20 shots. BURLINGTON incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. |
