Gabel leads TORONTO over KINGSTON, 6-1

Behind a great game by Loren Gabel, who had two goals and two assists, TORONTO defeated KINGSTON, 6-1.

Gabel's tallies came at 39 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 TORONTO and 10:29 into the third to make the score 5-1 TORONTO.

TORONTO excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. TORONTO's offense rang up 46 shots on KINGSTON's net. TORONTO surpassed its usual scoring output this season. This season, TORONTO averages 3.5 goals per contest. The defensemen of TORONTO were also effective in KINGSTON's zone, and came away with two goals.

TORONTO additionally got points from Lauren Wildfang, who also registered two goals and one assist and Taytum Clairmont, who also had two goals and three assists to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for TORONTO were Tori Haywood (PU), who had three and Sabrina Repaci, Laura Ball, and Kaitlin Tse, who contributed one a piece.

KINGSTON's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four TORONTO power plays. TORONTO's defense shut down KINGSTON's forwards for much of the game, and KINGSTON got off only 12 shots during the contest.

KINGSTON was led by Brenna Murphy, who scored the team's only goal. Murphy scored 3:30 into the third period to make the score 3-1 TORONTO. Jaclyn Bastedo assisted on the tally.
