OAKVILLE was stymied by DURHAM WEST netminder Stephanie Sluys, who stopped 27 shots during the victory. Sluys managed to improve on her goals against average, which stood at 1.89 prior to the game.

DURHAM WEST's penalty kill excelled, as DURHAM WEST gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

DURHAM WEST stifled OAKVILLE's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. DURHAM WEST forced OAKVILLE goalie Daniela Paniccia to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots. DURHAM WEST's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as DURHAM WEST finished with 18 penalty minutes.

OAKVILLE put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow DURHAM WEST to score on any of its six power plays. OAKVILLE was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 18 penalty minutes.
