WHITBY downs DURHAM WEST, 5-0

CJ Tipping registered two points to lead WHITBY to a 5-0 victory over DURHAM WEST.

Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

WHITBY additionally got points from Jamie Grigsby (PU), who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Cassidy Vinkle, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. WHITBY also had goals scored by Kirsten Welsh and Emily Volpe (PU), who scored one goal each. More assists for WHITBY came via Jamie Fox (PU), Hailey Noronha, and Alana Sims (PU), who contributed one a piece.

DURHAM WEST put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow WHITBY to score on any of its four power plays. DURHAM WEST's offense operated below it season average. DURHAM WEST puts an average of 2.7 pucks into the net per game. WHITBY's defense shut down DURHAM WEST's forwards for much of the game, and DURHAM WEST got off only 14 shots during the contest.
