WATERLOO hangs on, beats OTTAWA 2-0

Kendra Puttick gave WATERLOO the lead in the first period, and OTTAWA was never able to catch up in a close game that ended 2-0.

Puttick provided WATERLOO with the game-winning tally when she scored 12:46 into the the first period. Taylor Weber provided the assist.

Shea Tiley spearheaded the defensive effort for WATERLOO, as she did not allow a puck past him and made 31 saves for the shutout. Tiley certainly lowered her goals against average, which was 2.34 entering the contest.

WATERLOO was led by Puttick, who racked up one goal.

WATERLOO stifled OTTAWA's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. WATERLOO featured an improved defense during the game. WATERLOO allows 2.1 goals per game.

Amber Sealey also scored for WATERLOO. In addition, WATERLOO received assists from Hannah Davidson, who had one.

OTTAWA was held below its usual level of production. OTTAWA averages 2.4 goals per game. WATERLOO was unable to stop OTTAWA from sending pucks towards the net, and OTTAWA eventually piled up 31 shots on goal.

WATERLOO incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Tanya Winchcombe made 22 saves for OTTAWA on 24 shots. OTTAWA totaled 19 minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 0-for-5 on the power play. OTTAWA ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Caileah Forrest was ejected from the game.
