Ferguson nets hat trick, leads NEPEAN to 5-1 win over LEASIDE

Dallis Ferguson netted a hat trick to lead NEPEAN over LEASIDE, 5-1.

Ferguson's first goal came 1:32 into the second period. He then added goals at 7:40 into the second and at 14:25 into the second.

NEPEAN forced LEASIDE goalie Karen Morenz to work between the pipes, taking 43 shots. NEPEAN's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in three goals.

NEPEAN additionally got points from Addi Halladay, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. NEPEAN also got a goal from Sophie Contant as well. In addition, NEPEAN received assists from Sam Cogan, who had two and Katryne Villeneuve and Nicole Halladay (PU), who each chipped in one.

LEASIDE managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for two minutes in penalty time. LEASIDE ended up below its season average of 8.0 penalty minutes per game.

LEASIDE was led by Alyssa Connolly, who scored the team's only goal. Connolly scored 3:23 into the second period to make the score 1-1.

Megan Halhed rejected 17 shots on goal for NEPEAN. NEPEAN incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Morenz recorded 38 saves for LEASIDE. LEASIDE registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
